echo vs. print

If "echo -u2" offends but "print -u2" doesn't, the latter is fine with me.
Likewise, if someone wants to figure out the logic for performing redirections
completely differently for builtin commands versus external commands, that's
even better.  One way or the other, it seems useful to be able to perform
simple I/O with the overhead of a fork.
