When I first saw announcements for es, I jumped at it. "wow! that
sounds cool!," and it was. The silliness of tcsh and zsh had been
getting to me more than normal, I like playing with new shells, so
I thought I'd give it a try.
I don't use it for much of anything though.... most of the time,
I need a shell with job control in it, and when I don't, I find
myself using rc. I haven't deleted the shell yet, and just may
get around to learning the more "esoteric" features for use in
scripts, but I'm not sure I ever will---if rc or sh doesn't handle
it, my scripts tend to be in perl.
I'll continue to follow discussions about es's development, and
play with new releases as they happen, but w/o job control, I
can't ever picture es as being very useful.
