In that case, why not just use scheme? There are scheme compilers that
can do some pretty spiffy stuff. Sun has a tool which, from published
descriptions, sounds like my idea of a perl-killer (unfortunately they
use it only internally.) MIT scheme comes with an emacs-like editor
called edwin. With Apple behind it, maybe Dylan will take off.
There's a number of good ideas out there, if only they would reach
critical mass: Es is a part of a desirable trend.
