Yeah, but it's like democracy, which also sucks: The alternatives are
much worse.  The difference is that, in the case of unix, better
alternatives are at least conceivable.

Back to the original subject, though, I guess I'll just have to go
back and review the concept of closure before I understand why the
print representation of nested closures has to repeat all that
information.  Haven't got any more time for that kind of deep thought
this week, though.  :-(
